Community Water & Sanitation Programme
Project Overview
Following the successful completion of our new five-classroom primary school in April 2026, the Scintillae Foundation is launching Phase 2 in partnership with the Cambodia Clean Water & Toilet Project (CCWTP).
Our goal is: to bring clean water and safe sanitation to the village’s most vulnerable families.
We believe that education starts at home
Children learn hygiene at school, but many return home without access to clean water and safe toilets.
Without proper sanitations:

- Children suffer from preventable diseases.
-
- School attendance declines.
-
- Women and girls lack privacy and dignity.
Education only succeeds when children are healthy.
The Community
Trapean Svay is a rural village of approximately 300 families, located 20 km from Siem Reap where we inaugarated a new school in 2025.
Around 40% of households live in poverty, with limited access to clean water and sanitation.
Our Solution
Phase 2 of our project will provide:

- 70 family toilets with sealed septic tanks.

- 30 clean water bores.
-
- Hygiene and maintenance training for every beneficiary family.
This project will improve health, protect groundwater and strengthen the entire community.
Our Local Partner
The Cambodia Clean Water & Toilet Project (CCWTP) has built more than 1,000 toilets and numerous water wells throughout rural Siem Reap region.
